DSV has realized a new distribution center at the Moerdijk logistics hub. For an operation of this scale, a reliable network infrastructure is essential to support daily processes. In close collaboration with RJ Networks & Security B.V., we have delivered an integrated system focused on speed and scalability.

DSV is one of the largest logistics service providers in the world, managing transport and storage for thousands of companies globally. In their distribution centers, such as the one in Moerdijk, efficiency and the seamless handling of goods are paramount, with the IT infrastructure forming the indispensable link between the warehouse and the office.

The Challenge: Integrating large-scale infrastructure

In a project featuring 4,200 connection points, tight control over the components used is necessary. The challenge lay in creating an infrastructure that not only handles current data flows but can also be easily expanded for future technological developments. Given the combination of copper, fiber, and emergency power supplies, seamless coordination between different manufacturers was a requirement.

The Solution: Combining high-quality standards

Together with RJ Networks & Security B.V., we opted for a configuration based on proven technologies from several market leaders:

  • Copper Cabling: 300 kilometers of Siemon Cat 7 S/FTP B2ca cable were installed for interference-free transmission and optimal fire safety.

  • Fiber Backbone: For the backbone, Hexatronic Air Blown Fiber was chosen, allowing us to add extra fibers in the future without the need for major structural work.

  • Enclosures: Active equipment is housed in Rittal modular patch and server cabinets.

  • Continuity: To prevent power outages, APC UPS systems were implemented to protect critical processes.

Our Added Value

At DSV Moerdijk, we acted as the connecting link between the manufacturers and the installer. In addition to supplying the components, we provided support for the technical design and logistical planning. This allowed RJ Networks & Security B.V. to complete the installation efficiently and according to the established quality standards.
