Reliable connectivity for critical healthcare environments

For a healthcare institution like Rijnstate Hospital, network availability is of critical importance. With locations in Arnhem, Elst, and Zevenaar, a stable infrastructure is required for the exchange of medical data and the operation of critical systems. Together with various installation partners, we have laid the foundation for this future-proof environment.

Rijnstate Hospital is a top clinical teaching hospital providing high-quality medical care to the Arnhem region and its surroundings. With a strong focus on innovation and digitalization, the institution relies on a network that securely connects medical equipment, patient records, and healthcare providers across multiple locations.

The Challenge: Uniformity across multiple locations

Realizing a reliable network across different geographical locations requires standardization. In a hospital environment, medical equipment and patient records must remain connected at all times. This places high demands on the reliability of materials and the fire safety of the cabling used within the buildings.

The Solution: High-quality copper and fiber technology

For the infrastructure renewal, we fully committed to Siemon solutions:

  • Network Infrastructure: Siemon Cat 7 S/FTP B2ca cabling was used extensively. This category 7 cabling provides the necessary bandwidth for heavy medical data flows and meets the strictest fire safety requirements (B2ca).

  • Fiber Connections: Siemon fiber optic solutions were applied for fast connections between departments and locations to form a stable backbone.

Our Advisory Role

We played a facilitating role for the various installers active at Rijnstate's locations. By adhering to a single quality standard (Siemon), we created a uniform infrastructure that simplifies management for the hospital's IT organization.

Thanks to this collaboration, Rijnstate possesses a certified network that supports daily care delivery and is prepared for further digitalization.
